Ogre Generator

Ink sketch of a ogre

Twice as tall as a person and three times as hungry, an ogre lives to eat, sleep and take whatever it wants. Clever ones become chiefs or hired muscle; foolish ones become legends about how they were tricked.

What it is

Ogres are huge, lazy and fierce when roused. Many work for whoever feeds them best, and a few have learned to talk, trade and threaten like any bandit chief.

Where it lives

Caves, ruined forts, hill country, and the back rooms of bandit camps where someone has hired them.

Using it in solo play

Ask the oracle what the ogre wants today; it is often food or a nap. A fight with an ogre should feel dangerous, so look for a way to make it someone else's problem.

Use whatever numbers your game gives a creature like this; the roller supplies the story. Pair it with the yes/no oracle to decide how it reacts, and save anything worth remembering to your notebook.
